Official Membership Policy, Tour Incentives & Code of Ethics
1. Membership Tiers & Structure
CBGA offers three distinct membership categories designed to support local birding professionals, community trainees, and international conservation supporters.
A. Full Member
Certified & active Cambodian bird guides
- Official listing on CBGA website guide directory.
- CBGA branded field uniform item (shirt/badge).
- Priority registration & discounts for advanced workshops (bird calls, English terminology, GIS mapping).
- Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
B. Associate Member
Trainee guides, community rangers, & conservation staff
- Access to CBGA training sessions & senior guide mentorship.
- Access to CBGA field updates Telegram/WhatsApp group.
- Official digital member certificate.
Supporting Member
Foreign birders, expat enthusiasts, & eco-operators
- Quarterly digital newsletter on Cambodian species & research.
- Name/Logo on CBGA “Supporters & Partners” web page.
- 10% discount on official CBGA merchandise.
2. International Event & Partner Perks
To expand professional opportunities and global networking for our members:
- International Event Discounts: Active CBGA members enjoy at least a 10-15% discount on registration fees, delegate passes, and entrance tickets for affiliated international conservation events, regional bird fairs (e.g., Asian Bird Fair, Global Birdfair), and ecotourism symposiums.
- Delegation Access: Full Members receive priority selection for official CBGA international delegation seats and shared exhibition booth representation at global wildlife conventions.
- Verification: To claim event discounts, members must request a digital CBGA Verification Pass from the Secretariat prior to event registration.

Standard Terms & Conditions
1. Single Incentive Rule: Only one incentive can be selected per booking. Incentives cannot be combined or stacked (e.g., booking two back-to-back trips one year in advance qualifies for either the 10% Early Bird discount or the $200 Back-to-Back discount, but not both).
2. Exclusion of Promotional Tours: Incentives are not applicable to special promotional tours, discounted packages, or last-minute deals.
3. Minimum Trip Duration: All booking incentives apply strictly to tours lasting longer than 10 days. (See Tours)
4. Expiration Enforcement: Incentives and coupons must be redeemed prior to their expiration date. Expired coupons will not be honored under any circumstances.
5. First-Booking Coupon Exclusions: Referral coupons cannot be applied toward a guest’s first booking with CBGA.
4. CBGA Members Code of Ethics
Minimize audio playback; avoid over-playback on rare or nesting species (e.g., Giant Ibis, Bengal Florican). Maintain safe distances from nesting sites.
Leave no trace. Prohibit single-use plastics in field sites whenever possible and ensure zero disturbance to natural vegetation.
Maintain punctuality, clear communication, guest safety precautions, and respectful engagement with local indigenous communities and sanctuary rangers.
Ensure local community cooks, boat drivers, and rangers are compensated fairly according to CBGA ecotourism standards.
