Birding sites throughout Cambodia, which enable birdwatchers and bird photographer to experience Cambodia’s most endangered species. The tour takes you to sight the largest lake in the region, fantastic waterbird colony and experience life of locals in the floating village, Prek Toal. The core reserve harbors seven species of global significance: Spot-billed Pelican, Milky and Painted Storks, Lesser Adjutant, Greater Adjutant, Black-headed Ibis and Oriental Darter and Grey-headed Fish Eagle.

The man-made reservoir where more than 300-Sarus Crane, feeding ground in the dry season and the 3 species of lark occurring in Cambodia. 6 species of duck, including the resident Comb Duck. The critically endangered mammal Eld’s Deer can often be seen. Changkran Roy is the last evergreen forest remaining in Siem Reap is a good spot for Bar-bellied pitta and Oriental Bay Owl.

Extremely rare species, Bengal Florican founded the vast majority of the population with grassland of massive wintering migrants: Manchurian Reed Warbler and Siberian Ruby Throat, and Small Buttonquail. Link to Tmatboey eco-lodge, land of the critically endangered species Giant Ibis, Cambodia’s Iconic Bird, and White-shouldered Ibis. In the search of target species at the Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary, the large remaining block of deciduous dipterocarp forests of the north, a large number of woodpeckers and DDF species make their home of Brown Prinia, Indochinese Bushlark and White-browed Fantail. Cambodia’s Vulture Restaurant, Beong Toal, where three critically endangered species of vultures Red-headed, White-rumped, and Slender-billed Vulture(s) come to feed.

What to Expect

  • We will arrive back in Siem Reap around 5 pm.  We can either take you back to your hotel or to another destination of your choice in town.
  • Other things to bring: hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
  • CBGA will provide drinking water in a big container to refill, so we request you to bring your own water bottle from home or from your hotel. It is our campaign to reduce plastic waste.

Note: The best time for this tour is from November to May.
