7-day History & Archaeology Tour

This is the 7-day itinerary for those who love to spend more time to see history and Archaeology of Cambodia. Angkor Park was the greatest city of Khmer Empire from 9th to 15th century AD holds more than 200 temples with stunning beauty of Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Taprohm etc. attracts millions of visitors every year. Exploring the temples, learning about the story of this great monument, its history, culture, and religion of Preah Khan Kampong Svay, Sambo Preykuk and Preah Vihear Temple as a World Heritage inscription by UNESCO. Also spend time discovering the harrowing truths of the prison, a former high school that was transformed into a prison under the Khmer Rouge regime, and is now home to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum.

A full day tour start 5.30am to see the sunrise at Angkor Wat. Explore the interior of the great temple at Angkor includes the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat, the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers, the mysterious Bayon Temple and the Terrace of Elephants. Today tour start from 7am and take you to the site which takes about 90 minutes to drive. Visit and lunch at Koh Ker temple, we drive back towards to Siem Reap, our stop is at the beautiful ruined Beng Mealea temple, which is built in Angkor Wat period as a Hindu temple dedication. Guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel lobby at 7.00am. The tour begins with about 3 hours’ driving to the north and northeast passing a few towns on the way. You will arrive at the site ticket office where you will get your pass to the temple. After breakfast, we will leave to remote area Preah Khan Kampong Svay. Exploring this temple learning about the story of this great monument, its history, culture, and religion. Overnight at Kampong Thom province.

Today we will visit the ruined complex dates back to the Pre-Angkorian Chenla Kingdom (late 6th to 8th century), established by king Isanavarman I as central royal sanctuary and capital, known then as Isanapura. The Cambodian government has included Sambor Prei Kuk on its Tentative List of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Overnight at Phnom Penh.

Start from visit Royal Palace and National Museum on day 6. Also enjoy boat cruise on Tonle Chaktumuk seeing the night viewing at Phnom Penh. On day 7, we will visit both Prison S21 and the Killing Fields. Before the time of your flight, we will spend time for shopping.
