For those who don’t have much time to enjoy nature and wildlife of Cambodia, we recommend for 5-day around Siem Reap. The largest waterbird colony and enjoy Tonle Sap and Floating Village, in this unique tour, enable to see seven species of global significance: Spot-billed Pelican, Milky and Painted Storks, Lesser Adjutant, Greater Adjutant, Black-headed Ibis and Oriental Darter and Grey-headed Fish Eagle. Changkran Roy is the last remaining evergreen forest in Siem Reap and where it is protected by the community and authority. The area with water resources supports some potential wildlife including the birds, mammals, and butterflies. Continue walk to the hill, birding around the Dry Deciduous forest (DDF) looking for some forest species especially woodpeckers, Parakeets and Prinias, and climb the path to see the lingas at Kbal Spean. Also, enjoy the remote archaeological site at Koh Ker/Beng Mealea temple. Experience lonely temples partly overgrown by the forest. It is situated in dry Dipterocarp with some semi-evergreen forest. This kind of forest provides excellent habitat for wildlife. Birds potentially included 8 species of woodpeckers, Rufous-winged Buzzard, White-rumped Pygmy-falcon and Collared Falconet, etc.

An early start to transfer to Cambodia’s great lake, Tonle Sap. The day is spent birding at the Prek Toal Biosphere Reserve by boat and from watchtowers in the flooded forest. Prek Toal has one of the largest concentrations of waterbirds in South-East Asia with Oriental Darter, Spot-billed Pelican, Painted and Milky storks, Asian Openbill and Greater and Lesser Adjutants among the species that can be seen. Return to Siem Reap in the late afternoon. The itinerary may vary depending on local conditions at Tonle Sap.

Ecotourism in Changkran Roy is run by people from the local village. Our camping arrangements, food and guiding will be provided by them. As you are led along the forest paths, animals, butterflies and birds will be identified. The trees, flowers and plants will be described with a particular emphasis on herbs and their traditional local usage in medicine and food. You will camp near the waterfall where you can listen to its music. As you enjoy your breakfast in the morning you will hear calls from birds singing in the canopy. Perhaps your vivid pleasant memories of this wonderful site will be added to by a voluntary tasting of the local wine blended with local herbs.

Exploring the hidden carving of 1000 Lingas of Angkor in the mountain with waterfall and birding at the remnant habitat of Dry Deciduous Forest (DDF) of Indochina, a home many endangered species and Woodpeckers species. Visiting Angkor Center for Biodiversity and Conservation (ACCB) is located at Kbal Spean. The Center rescues illegally hunted birds and animals, providing a refuge until they can be returned to the wild.

Starting at 5:30am with a full day tour to Koh Ker and Beng Mealea which very attractive for anyone who would like to experience lonely temples partly overgrown by the forest. Enjoy the nature of dry Dipterocarp with some semi-evergreen forest. This kind of forest provides excellent habitat for wildlife.
