Sign Board at Tmatboey

Giant Ibis is a significant bird of Cambodia and was classified globally as Critically Endangered (CR). It is the national bird of Cambodia and about 90% of global population are in Cambodia. Nest protection program was set up to secure their population in Northern Plains of Cambodia and recently Tmatboey Community has found one nest located in Kulen Promtep Wildlife Sanctuary.

CBGA is funding this nest protection program to this community as this is part of conservation project.

This Giant Ibis’s nest protection now two chicks hatched successfully. This is a good news about success in supporting conservation. Today community is making hide for observation to reduce disturbance to the Ibis (to be continued).
